Newcastle United squares off against Tottenham Hotspurs tomorrow, in a meeting where one has newfound confidence and the other has had a solid season so far. We look at what lineup we think will enter the pitch for NUFC tomorrow.

Tottenham has more or less fired on all cylinders since the start and is currently only 6 points behind the table toppers. Plus they’ve only lost once.

Newcastle United is a different story. Currently 18th (a place above Sunderland mind), and having lost a whopping 8 games so far, is a bigger underdog in this matchup. However, there’s been glimpses of some good play this season, and a win against Liverpool showed a great team effort and hard work for a full 90 minutes. Which was highly unusual.

NUFC are due another win against a heavy hitter and Tottenham can’t have only one loss for long. So we’re being naivly optimistic and cross fingers, toes, legs and whatever we can do make sure Newcastle United get something out of this.

As for the linup, we think McClaren will be well pleased with his team against Liverpool and will simply copy/paste his starting XI. Should there be changes it would have to be due to injuries or tactical gaps that feels needing plugged against a strong Spurs team.

Is the team I would field? Not exactly. Although these players may have done very well against LFC, I still think there are individual improvements that could affect the team positively.

Though that may be, I think we’d all be disappointed to lose, happy with a point, chuffed with a win. As per.
