Burn the game tape and throw it out. That is exactly what’s going to happen after this dreadful, abysmal and shambolic match – and unfortunately for Newcastle United, those words have described far too many games for them this season. With Chelsea having to travel to Paris on Tuesday for their Champions League draw versus PSG, the hope was that they would overlook the Magpies and focus more so on the bigger match. That was not the case, and as a matter of fact, it seems like it was Newcastle who had other thoughts on their mind; perhaps it was their upcoming 18 days off. The Toon looked lost today, a team with no structure or system and a coach who looks like he’s lost his team. Newcastle are back in the relegation zone, with a long, long road ahead of them.
