In perhaps the biggest Tyne-Wear derby of a generation, the spoils were shared as Newcastle drew 1-1 with their bitter rivals Sunderland at St. James’ Park.
This result doesn’t help either side in their race for survival, but considering how United played in the first-half, a draw was a fair result.
The clinical Jermain Defoe put the Black Cats in front just before half-time, but a late header from fan favourite Aleksandar Mitrovic ended Sunderland’s winning streak against Newcastle.
